Bernal and Stevens capture both AOY titles and NAVIONICS Cup

SACRAMENTO, Ca. - Over the course of time, every now and then, we are fortunate to witness extraordinary things. And this year, something that definitely ranks as extraordinary took place, as two anglers accomplished what many would consider to be nearly impossible. Last week, in grand fashion, Vince Bernal and Scott Stevens, Future Pro Tour anglers from Los Banos, California, punctuated a stellar 2009 season by capturing the Thunder Valley Outdoors/Future Pro Tour Angler of the Year titles – In both the Northern and Central regions, as well as the inaugural 2009 NAVIONICS Cup title for the central region.

Out pointing their competition by comfortable margins, both Vince and Scott upon realizing their accomplishments, displayed an enormous amount of grace in receiving their well-deserved honors, and were quick to put their achievements into perspective for those amazed at their unbelievable performance.

“Personal sacrifice, hard work, plus lots and lots of time on the water were the keys to success for us this year”, they both noted, expounding further on the times they spent pre-fishing for each event and concentrating on one event at a time. Another key was that we work well together as a team and respect each other’s talents, always remembering that we are a team - win, lose or draw. And it makes it easier when you have a partner you believe in that you know can help “shore up” your weaknesses while complementing your strengths”.

And the fun has just begun as Vince and Scott will not only enjoy the many accolades coming from their angling peers and the angling industry at large, but also a bounty of awards and honors that go along with accomplishing such a monumental feat. For along with the Angler of the Year titles, they will receive their entry fees paid into the 2010 FPT season, special Angler of the year bracelets, jackets, and receive limited sponsorships from Lucky Craft, Lamiglas, Gamakatsu USA, and Angler’s Press.

For their NAVIONICS Cup title they will be placed on the NAVIONICS promotional team, receive a custom NAVIONICS logo’d boat wrap, custom designed jerseys, a Platinum series NAVIONICS navigation chip, plus a $500 fuel card to help offset some of next year’s fishing expenses.

So after such a spectacular 2009 performance, what else is left for to provide a challenge for this dynamic duo you ask?

Answer:

Capturing the last jewel in the Future Pro Tour’s triple crown.….the 2009 Future Pro Tour Classic Championship title. A title that when added to what they have already accomplished, would truly put them in a league of their own.

Parks and Markham win NAVIONICS Cup title for the northern region

James Markham and Paul Parks captured the 2009 NAVIONICS Cup title for the northern region punctuating what has been a stellar year for these members of the Dobyns Rods promotional staff.

“We couldn’t be happier”, noted Paul and James, as they finished out the northern region’s final event last week with a 2nd place finish on Lake Berryessa, almost capturing that region’s Angler of the Year title. As anglers that wish to someday “take it to the next level “, we are thankful that the Future Pro Tour has provided us with the opportunities to build our bass fishing skills and get our “feet wet” in the promotional side of the industry. We would also like to thank Gary Dobyns for his support and confidence in us and for his support of the Future Pro Tour”.

As winners of the 2009 NAVIONICS Cup, James and Paul will receive free entries into the 2010 FPT season, be placed on the NAVIONICS promotional team, receive a custom NAVIONICS logo’d boat wrap, custom designed jerseys, a Platinum series NAVIONICS navigation chip, plus a $500 fuel card to help offset some of next year’s fishing expenses.

On behalf of NAVIONICS Corporation, and the Future Pro Tour….Congratulations Vince, Scott, James and Paul on a job well done!
