Is a 1000 series stradic to small to fish drop shot and shakey heads paired on a 7' med action spinning rod? I'm on a budget and one vendor is selling stradic 1000 mg for 129.00 but I don't know if the size will be to small. I plan to fish it with braid/ flouro will the spool size create to much lines twist on long casts?

If you are going to use braid/fluor then you will have moer than enough line capacity. I fish 5 pound on my 1000 size reels for finesse applications and have never felt like the reel was too small. My thought is that the 1000 size reel is good for 4-6 pound line.

I do prefer a 2500 size reel for shakey heads and similar type baits. I am using heavier line like 8 pound so the 2500 size reel makes more sense. The 2500 is good for 6-10 pound line.
