I was asked if i wanted to purchase an exttended warranty when i bought my cumara at BPS the other day... does the normal over the counter warranrty at the shimano factory not apply to the cumara?

Extended warranty on a rod that is covered by a lifetime warranty? That's kind of like getting a double life sentence in prison...
BPS may not participate in the OTC warranty program. You can always send the rod directly to us for warranty replacement should you ever need it.
