Launched at Lauritzens around 2:00. Had three hits. Two fish were hooked. One about 4 lbs. and one about 8 lbs.

We had a huge high tide. Areas were flooded that I have never seen flooded unless there have been some heavy rains. Should have went south. Big break is clear but the rest of the water out west is green. Good for stripers but not so good for topwater.

I didn't have the energy today to push it and focus but managed some fish in any case.

Ok, now I can focus out east for Saturday and Sunday since I got a pass for both days. Heard hair razors with big white tails were working. Do you still fish shim jigs?

ppickerell - Played with 1oz. Char/White Bucktail underspin .... and instead of the big Hyper-Stryper tail .... I put some Uncle Josh #145 "The Porker" in white on it. ~ With some Smelly Jelly Scent on the Pork and Hair.

It is seeming to do better than the 1/2oz with the Yamo white single tail grub~~ And the difference in bait sizes are completely different actions/workability from each other.

Also the water is so clear in Franks and dayum near everywhere else in the middle delta.... They will easily spook even from your shadow even right now it seems. Still no birds, No bait ....No "Real" Fish.

Keeping those graphs off will help - along with making LONG cast out ... As there is no bait you will mark right now.

Working your baits through the grass is a pain in the arse as well. Evil or Very Mad

Tried a weedless white/redeye'ed Mission with Pro-Cure in the cavity as well - for only a couple of cookie cutters - even working it through the grass matts. Confused

I use the Shim Jig with and without a white twister tail. If I want to slow the fall, I add the twister. Never use one over 1/2 ounce as with a twister tail it will glide gently over the weeds.

Nailed a nice one probably about 8 to 10 tonight in sherman. Just got done with the punker with no takers and casted back over the area I just worked with rattletrap and bam. Actually ripped some line out. May have been bigger...

It was beautiful out today with the clouds breaking and the sun breaking through the clouds.

On 11-6 launched from the break and did OK right off the SS Minnow with Rattle traps. A couple of 5 lbers ands a few blacks.
Went to Sherman, nada, no splashes no bites.
Ended up anchored at Pittsburgs PGE plant with bait in 30 feet and the action was good. no bigguns but good action.

Was out for blackies today and saw a striper that could have been close to 25 or heavier. Not exactly sure where I was, but I know I went by Holland Marina and followed it all the way down the left, under one brigde but not under the second that was close by. There was a railroad track and some other stuff. Thank god for GPS Laughing
