Flaming Gorge Utah

Flaming Gorge Reservoir rests at an elevation of 6,045 feet as part of the Flaming Gorge National recreation Area. Lying in two states, Wyoming and Utah, the reservoir has a total capacity of 3,788,900 acre-feet. It has a surface area of 42,020 acres and depths up to 380 feet. Formed by damming the Green River that project was completed in 1964. The lake freezes over most winters which makes for a growing season that lasts 5 to 6 months.
